ETSO C26d Aircraft Wheels and Wheel Brake Assemblies (CS-23, CS-27 and CS-29 Aircraft) Test

This ETSO specifies which aircraft wheels and wheel brake assemblies must meet for CS-23, CS-27 and CS-29 aircraft designed and manufactured on or after this ETSO in order to be identified by the applicable ETSO mark. Requirements carrying aircraft wheels and wheel brake assemblies (CS-25 aircraft) are contained in ETSO-C135.

The MPS is based, in part, on the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) 5381, Chapters 23, 27, and 29 of Oct. Minimum Performance Recommendations for Aircraft Wheels, Brakes, and Wheel Brake Assemblies.

This appendix specifies the Minimum Performance Standard (MPS) of SAE ARP2000 of October 5381, "Sections 23, 27 and 29 Minimum Performance Recommendations for Aircraft Wheels, Brakes and Wheel-Brake Assemblies" as amended in this ETSO.

Except for small parts (such as fasteners, gaskets, washers, and small electrical parts) that will not significantly contribute to the spread of fire, all solid materials used must meet the flammability rules applicable to the part and category of the aircraft.
