UNE 2377 Aerospace Series - Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics - Test Method - Test for Determination of Shear Strength Between Visible Layers

To determine the shear strength between the layers parallel to the reinforcement layers, a rectangular specimen is tested in bending. It is the force applied through the specimen resting on two supports and a loading nose in the middle of the supports.

When the material shows a significant difference in cutting properties in the two main directions, it will be tested in these two directions. When the fibers are oriented in one direction, the test should be performed in that direction only.
