The EUROCAE ED 14G test standard was prepared jointly by EUROCAE Working Group 14 "Environment" and RTCA SC-135 "Environment" and was approved by the EUROCAE Council on 15 January 2015.

Aircraft equipment is exposed to a wide variety of environments during use. These environments can be destructive and destructive. Ensuring that this equipment functions properly in these environments is critical to aircraft safety. Bench-level testing of equipment is key to ensuring survivability in these environments.

EUROCAE is an international non-profit organization in Europe. Membership is open to manufacturers and users of equipment for aviation, trade associations, national civil aviation authorities and, under certain conditions, non-European organisations. The work program is mainly geared towards the preparation of performance specifications and guidance documents for civil aviation equipment for its European and worldwide adoption and use.

EUROCAE's findings are agreed upon after discussion among EUROCAE Members and through their appropriate committees, in collaboration with RTCA Inc, Washington DC and/or the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Warrendale PA, USA.

This document updates ED-14G "Environmental Requirements and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment" (May 2011). This document is technically the same as RTCA DO-160G Amendment 1.

EUROCAE performance specifications and other documents are advisory only. EUROCAE is not an official body of European Governments. Its recommendations are only valid as official policy statements when adopted by a particular government or conference of governments.
