On top of that, it's designed to withstand alternate stages of extreme heat and cooling without damaging the fastener. Fasteners created from alloys not designed for high temperature environments will oxidize if used in these environments.
Fasteners will also expand as the temperature rises, putting pressure on the hole in which they are inserted, then contracting as temperatures fall back, causing them to loosen inside the hole.
