Two types of tests are specified:

The tests are designed to be applied to acoustic Vibration sensitive equipment. In areas where general sound pressure levels are less than 125 dB, equipment aboard aircraft does not normally need to be tested in acoustic Vibration environments.
When using the broadband noise method, the operating test conditions in the test room are determined by the average value of the General Sound pressure levels at the Control Points, the maximum allowable irregularity of the Sound pressure field, the Sound pressure spectrum.
When using the Harmonic Sound method, the operating test conditions in the test room are determined by the frequency distribution of Sound pressure levels at the Control Points, the rate of fundamental harmonic frequency Change, and the test duration.
