This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: EN ISO 5361 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Tracheal tubes and fittings. This standard was later published by the International Standards Organization (ISO).
The EN ISO 5361 standard describes the basic performance and safety requirements for various tracheal tubes and their fittings. Tracheal tubes with metal or plastic reinforced walls, tracheal tubes with an expansion zone and other tracheal tubes designed for special applications are also covered by this international standard as they are widely used and have similar basic requirements.
By the way, tracheal tubes designed for use with flammable anesthetic gases or active substances, laser or electrosurgical instruments are not covered by this standard.

The design of these tubes, which perform many functions such as minimizing aspiration, isolating the lung and providing an open surgical area during general anesthesia, is increasingly diverse and comfortable in use.
