TS 3957 First Aid Supplies - Plasters

While preparing this standard, the following foreign standards were taken as basis:

  • “BS 3110 Methods for measuring the frictional resistance of print” standard published by the British Standards Institute (BSI). This standard is useful for: ink manufacturers, packaging material industries, printing industries, testing laboratories and quality control personnel.
  • The standard “DIN 13019 Bandage plaster packs for the first aid area - Dimensions” published by the German Standards Institute (DIN). This standard provides the basis for the inclusion of bandaged plaster packs in first aid kits and other first aid supplies. This standard does not apply to bandaged plaster packs in the operating room and therapy.
  • DIN 61634 Dressings - Elastic fixation bandage” standard, also published by the German Standards Institute (DIN). The described fixation bandages consist of a cotton and viscose blend and are very elastic. They mainly perform two functions: on the one hand they hold the dressings and the filling material in place, on the other hand they have a supportive effect.

A plaster or adhesive dressing can be used to cover minor cuts and scrapes. The plaster is produced in several different sizes as well as different shapes for areas such as elbows, heels and toes. For example, foodies should cover wounds with a blue, visible and waterproof plaster.

In general, plasters are made from a piece of gauze and have an adhesive backing. They are usually wrapped in single sterile packages. Plaster suitable for every situation and environment is produced. There are fabric plasters for daily use and wash-proof plasters when working outside or in damp conditions. In addition to blue hydrogel burn plasters that protect against minor burns, plasters suitable for the ketring industry are produced.

Our organization, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, also provides testing services for plasters among first aid materials, within the scope of TS 3957 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
