This standard is the second part of the EN ISO 6469 series that provides safety features for electrically powered road vehicles. Electric road vehicles have different functions and features compared to conventional vehicles. This standard deals with such specifications regarding the operational safety of electrically powered road vehicles.
The requirements given in this standard must be met within the range of environmental and operating conditions in which the electrically powered vehicle is designed to operate, as specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
At least two deliberate and distinctive actions will be required to switch the propulsion system from shutdown to drive allowed mode. In order for the drive system to be reactivated after automatic or manual shutdown, the requirements for activating the drive active mode will apply.
If the electric drive system is equipped with a vehicle that will automatically reduce the vehicle's propulsion power, it is recommended that significant reductions be indicated to the driver.
