The evaluation should include heating due to maximum steady-state current flow, where applicable.
In the studies to be carried out within this framework, the worst case maximum temperature is found by using the position in the vehicle defined in the list after the table presented in the "High temperature" section of the Ford EY-0128 standard. If the location is not defined in the list, the maximum storage / exposure temperature is selected from the table. Thermal protective coatings can be used to ensure that materials can withstand expected temperatures.
If vehicle-specific temperature information is used, it must be approved for use by an authorized person.
For cable bundles without any heat protection, minimum distances must be observed for cables that will generally withstand temperatures of at least 105 degrees. For example, the wiring harnesses must be 200 mm from the exhaust pipe, turbocharger and muffler, 100 mm from the engine coolant pipe and 100 mm from the exhaust pipe of the engine and cabin heater.
