GMW 14231 Standard Test for Interior Upholstery Fabrics

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance service within the scope of GMW 14231 standard. Interior upholstery fabrics within this specification are made from fibrous textile materials with knit, woven, non-woven or non-traditional structures. This specification also covers laminated fabric structures and synthetic suede.

This specification is divided into types according to the application of the fabric on a piece:

• Type A: Covers fabrics used for seat, piping, console and door trim panels.
• Type B: Covers fabrics used for overhead (ceiling upholstery, visor, sun visor and pillar).
• Type C: Covers fabrics used for instrument panels and rear window trim.
• Type D: Covers the fabric used for cargo compartments.

All interior materials have been developed for use in vehicles with sun glazing, so performance may be impaired when used on vehicles without sun glazing.
