GMW 14829 Tape Adhesion Test Standard for Paint Surfaces

This standard describes crosshatching and "X" cut tape adhesion tests using cutting tools or a cutting guide. All paint systems must meet adhesion requirements when the appropriate method is used.

Unless otherwise specified, dry film thickness will determine which guide or tool is required. If any method cannot be used due to size and/or shape restrictions (typically found on small parts), it will be at the discretion of the responsible engineer to perform this test.

It is performed to evaluate the adhesion properties of painted metal, plastic and sealant before and after environmental tests.

As Eurolab laboratory, we provide the best service to you, our manufacturers, with our experienced and professional staff within the scope of all automotive standards. Our laboratory and test team work diligently to provide the best service for manufacturers.
