BCI is a method of performing immunity tests by sending disruptive signals directly into the harness via a current injection probe. The injection probe is a current transformer through which the wires of the device under test (DUT) pass. Immune tests are then performed by varying the test severity level and the frequency of the induced disturbance.

An injection probe or probe set capable of operating over the test frequency range is required to interface with the DUT's test equipment. The probe must be able to withstand a continuous input power over the test frequency range, regardless of system loading.
