GMW 16284 Test Standard for Brake Rotor Coating

The brake rotor liner is identified by specification number GMW 16284, the cladding position on the rotor, and the preconditioning temperature.

16248 types of coatings are used for the GMW 3 standard:

Type A cladding requires paint on the outer wall of the cover and the edge of the brake rotor.
The Type B trim location includes the locations required in Type A and the wheel mounting surface.
Type C pavement location requires locations in Type A and B along with brake surfaces. Preconditioning requires one of four time/temperature programs defined as: No preconditioning, applicable up to +200 °C, +300 °C and +400 °C.

The material of this specification is designed for spray or dip/twist painting applications.
