GMW 3097 Electromagnetic Compatibility Test Standard for Electrical/Electronic Components and Subsystems

This standard is one of three global GMW3091, GMW3097 and GMW3103 EMC documents specifying EMC testing and verification.

The scope of accreditation should include at least the key specifications and procedures applicable to GMW EMC testing.

This standard is evaluated according to the test procedures involved, refers to the International EMC,
standards where possible, but also describe internal testing procedures if necessary. Specifies EMC requirements for all automotive products

Validation results (Design Validation (DV) and Product Validation (PV)) should only be obtained from test sites. GM allows processing in a laboratory for certain test procedures recognized through EMC laboratory recognition. This process replaces the old Automotive EMC Laboratory Recognition Program (AEMCLRP).

Preferred supplier and third-party commercial testing labs required to hold ISO 17020 accreditation must be an accreditation body accredited by GM.
