This standard covers two types of hose made of fabric braid and synthetic rubber combined with end fittings for use in automotive power steering applications as flexible connections in the temperature range of -40 degrees to +120 (-40 degrees F to +250 degrees).
This standard has been declared stabilized and will no longer be subject to periodic reviews for the currency. Users are responsible for verifying references and continuing suitability or technical requirements.
These hoses are designed for use in applications where reduction in amplitude of pump pressure pulses is required.
Type 1 hose will be suitable for a maximum working pressure of 10.3 MPa (1500 psi). Type 2 hose will be suitable for a maximum working pressure of 10.3 MPa (1500 psi).
