IEC 61851-22 Electric Vehicle Conductor Charging System - Part 22: AC Electric Vehicle Charging Station

This part of IEC 61851 together with part 1 gives the requirements for ac electric vehicle charging stations for conductive connection to an electrical switchboard.

This standard does not cover all maintenance-related safety issues. The scope of this part of IEC 61851 does not cover socket-outlet box-type assemblies without charge control function installed to energize the vehicle.

The alternating current charging station of the electric vehicle must be connected to the grid. Electric vehicle, so that under normal conditions, mode of energy transfer, conductivity, indoors and outdoors is carried out in complete safety.

In general, this principle is achieved by complying with the appropriate requirements set out in the Chapter. This standard and compliance are checked by performing all tests. General rules for DC charging stations for vehicles can also be found in IEC 60439-1.

All tests in this standard are type tests. Unless otherwise specified, type tests should be performed on a single specimen as delivered and fastened according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Tests should be performed with the specimen or any moving part of the specimen placed in the most unfavorable position likely to occur in normal operation.
