This test specification (PV) is used to determine residual particle amounts and particle size distribution for lines (eg fuel lines, brake hoses) and circuit components (eg evaporators, radiators) and can be applied in conjunction with the component specific test specification.
The function of an engine depends on several factors, including the cleanliness of individual parts and sub-assemblies used in the assembly (ASSY) and particularly in sensitive engine areas.
The purpose of this standard is to standardize Group-wide cleaning analyzes and, above all, to make them comparable to help achieve the goal of improving cleanliness.
The fineness of the filter is component specific; 1/5 to 1/10 of the smallest particle size, where 1/10 should be applied in the larger particles range and 1/5 for smaller particles.
Sampling of components to check cleaning requirements is carried out after the entire manufacturing process has been completed. Cleaning of individual parts or assemblies ready for assembly or delivery is checked.
The testing frequency is determined in agreement with the purchaser after relevant trends have been identified and is the responsibility of the component manufacturer.
Cleanliness analysis is performed immediately after sample collection. It must be guaranteed that the parts are protected from dust during transportation. The tested devices (DUT) must be transported in a suitable transport vehicle.
