ISO 13766 Excavation and Construction Machinery Test Standard

ISO 13766 provides test methods and acceptance criteria for the evaluation of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of earthmoving machinery defined in ISO 6165 and building construction machinery defined in ISO/TR 12603.

ISO 13766 Excavation and Construction Machinery Test Standard

  • Drilling and foundation equipment;
  • Equipment used for the preparation, handling and compaction of concrete, mortar and working reinforcement;
  • Road construction and maintenance machinery and equipment.

ISO 13766 deals with general EMC requirements under typical electromagnetic environmental conditions.
Electrical/electronic subassemblies (ESA) and separate ESA intended to be installed on machines are also discussed.

The following electromagnetic disturbance events are evaluated;

  • Wideband and narrowband electromagnetic interference;
  • Electromagnetic field immunity;
  • Electrostatic discharge;
  • Executed transients.

The machine can have DC or AC or a combination of both as its internal electrical power supply system.

ISO 13766 is not applicable to machinery designed to be powered from an external mains or incidents caused by military applications.

EUROLAB provides ISO 13766 testing services to businesses within the scope of excavation and construction machinery tests.
