JIS D0202 General Rules for Coating Films for Auto Parts

This Japanese Industry Standard JIS D0202 defines the general rules for film coating applied to the metal substrate of auto parts, called "pieces", to make it anticorrosive or decorative.

However, JIS D0202 does not apply to:

• The coating film is intended to be a temporary corrosion inhibitor only,
• Covering film for the body and bed of a car,
• Coating film that is electroplated, vacuum evaporated, or rolled sheet hot stamped or otherwise applied to a thin metal film on a plastic substrate.

This translation is based on the original Japanese Industrial Standard Amendment, revised by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry as a result of deliberations with the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee in accordance with the Industry Standardization Law. Consequently, JIS D 0202:1988 has been partially replaced by this Amendment.
