The seat belt pretensioner should be tested in two positions. Of all possible locations where the seat belt pretensioner remains stationary without further support, a location with the pyrotechnic component closest to the grille and a second location with the pyrotechnic component furthest from the grille should be selected.
Seat belt pretensioners should be tested as specified in EN ISO 14451-2 with seat belt pretensioners in any unfastened position. When multistage seat belt pretensioners are tested, the delay between stage 1 ignition and subsequent stages should be 5 ms or according to product specification or requirements.
