KMVSS 103-2 Test Standard for Seat Belt Mounting Anchors

In South Korea, the Motor Vehicle Management Act is to manage motor vehicles efficiently and ensure the performance and safety of motor vehicles by setting issues related to registration, safety standards, self-verification, correction of manufacturing defects, inspection, maintenance, engine testing, and thereby contributing to the promotion of public welfare.

KMVSS 103-2 specifies the requirements for seat belt assembly anchors to ensure their correct position for effective occupant safety and reduce the possibility of failure. The standard applies to passenger cars, multi-purpose passenger cars (MVPs), trucks and buses.

Seat belt anchors for type 2 seat belt assembly (combined lap and shoulder
must be fitted for the forward facing outboard seating position (DSP) in passenger cars and for any DSP where a Type 103 seat belt is required by KMVSS 2-2 in vehicles other than passenger cars.

Seat belt anchors for Type 1 (lap belt) or Type 2 seat belt assemblies for each DSP shall be fitted provided a bus has a passenger seat.

Any vehicle fitted with an automatic restraint system in the front right outer DSP that cannot be used to secure a child restraint system or which cannot be adjusted by the vehicle owner to secure a child restraint system using only part-fitted attachments Delivery of original equipment by the vehicle manufacturer, at the manufacturer's option shall have fastenings for a Type 1 or lap belt assembly in that location, or a Type 1 or Type 2 seat belt assembly in that location, depending on the location.
