EN ISO 14451-10 determines the types and sequence of tests, acceptance criteria and categorization methods to be applied to semi-finished products. EN ISO 14451-10 is valid for type tests. EN ISO 14451-10 does not apply to articles containing military explosives or commercial blasting agents, other than black powder or flash composition.
Documentation shall be complete as specified in EN ISO 14451-2. For the conformity assessment of the semi-finished product, the results of additional tests (if any) performed on higher-level pyrotechnic articles (assemblies) or lower-level pyrotechnic articles (components) may be evaluated.
The generator shall be equipped with a means to prevent unwanted radiated or conducted emissions of pulsed or continuous type so that the pyrotechnic object and auxiliary test equipment are not affected by these effects. The discharge return cable of the test generator must be constructed to ensure that the generator meets the waveform specification. It must be adequately insulated to prevent discharge current from flowing to personnel or conductive surfaces other than termination during ESD testing.
