GMN 10083 Interior Paint Durability Test Standard

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the GMN 10083 standard. This specification covers internal durability requirements and chemical resistance for paint coatings applied to plastic substrates and can be applied to flexible or rigid substrates or integrated leather foam systems.

In special cases, a reverse pulse requirement will be determined by adding an RI suffix to the specification code, ie GMN 10083 specifies that it retains 80% of the total energy on reverse pulse.

Extended durability testing in this specification is required for corporate approval of all new interior paint products. Once institutional approval is granted for a new paint system, routine testing of the paint as used on the parts will be covered by the GM 4350M.

Approved paint systems on plastics require on-part verification for full approval and inclusion in the Approved Paint on Plastics Systems database.

As of 6/03 all interior paint system approvals must meet GMN 10033 "Sunscreen Lotion Resistance of Indoor Coatings" requirements. No further testing should be done until the paint has passed the section curing test and the sunscreen lotion test.

The paint system tested on the panels should be the same as your production paint system, including the film structures recommended by the paint manufacturers. All tests should be performed in triplicate on the red and blue panels.
