As EUROLAB, we provide the best service to you, our manufacturers, in measuring the resistance of automotive passenger compartment resin parts against high temperature.

NES M0131 High Temperature Test Methods for Passenger Compartment Synthetic Resin Parts

Resin is a naturally occurring substance produced by some trees. This sticky liquid has been reproduced by scientists and is called synthetic resin. Synthetic resins have properties very similar to their naturally occurring counterparts, most notably the ability to harden by the application of heat or pressure, or a combination of both. Products created using synthetic resin include automotive parts, food containers and pipes.

Synthetic resin is typically produced using a chemical polymerization process. This process then leads to the formation of polymers that are more stable and homogeneous than the naturally occurring resin. Because they are more stable and less expensive, various forms of synthetic resins are used in a variety of products such as plastics, paints, varnishes, and textiles.

High temperature test is carried out to determine the resistance of the tested sample against high temperature from natural environmental conditions. The sample placed in the test cabinet is kept in suitable high temperature conditions to be encountered under real use and/or storage conditions for an appropriate time. The performance of the sample is observed during or at the end of the test, and any errors that occur are recorded.
The NES M0131 standard describes a test method for obtaining data to evaluate the effects of high temperature conditions on material safety, integrity, and performance. Resin automotive materials and equipment that should be used in areas where the ambient or induced temperature is higher than the standard ambient temperature are evaluated according to this test method.
