The NES M0602 test covers methods for testing natural leathers (hereinafter referred to as genuine leather) and polyurethane leathers used in automobile seats, consoles, doors, instrument panels and trim, and vinyl leather fabrics for user seats, consoles and trims.
Genuine Leather Test Pieces
The edges and substandard sections are to be sampled from materials (primarily halved lengthwise) excluding areas of 10 mm from the test pieces, sides (tips) and substandard sections (ear and tail sections).
Directions, if a sapling direction is specified, the test piece shall be cut parallel to the back line if it is longitudinal, and perpendicular to the back line if lateral.
Sampling areas, Samples will be taken from the specified areas of the test pieces. If there is no instruction, samples can be taken from the specified areas. If there is no instruction, the remaining material can be sampled. After testing, the areas sampled from the test pieces (A, B or C) shall be indicated on the test pieces.
