EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance service within the scope of GMW 3347 standard. This test procedure is used to determine the lint pick-up and retention resistance of automotive fabrics.
This test procedure is mainly applicable to automotive seating fabrics in a pile structure. May be used with other fabric construction types at the discretion of the approving GM Materials Engineer.
Hair removal and removal is simulated in a laboratory testing machine by a random frictional action produced by rolling three samples with a small amount of cotton fiber in a cylindrical test chamber lined with a slightly abrasive material. After testing, a sample is evaluated for lint collection. After vacuuming the remaining two samples, the observed retained lint is reported using an arbitrary rating scale.
