VW TL 1010 Test Standard for Flammability of Interior Materials

The flame performance of the interior of the car is directly related to the fire safety of the whole vehicle. This standard specifies the requirement for the combustion behavior of interior materials and the requirement for the combustion behavior of materials/components in the passenger compartment. Generally, the flame performance of the automobile interior is determined by the horizontal burning rate.

VW TL 1010 Test Standard for Flammability of Interior Materials

VW TL 1010 relates to any part of single or composite material whose Y surface contacts the air gap of the passenger compartment and is located at a maximum depth of 13 mm (1/2 inch) from the passenger compartment surface. For parts that are joined less than the full surface area and that alternate during assembly, the 13mm measurement will be considered again until a layer thicker than 13mm is formed after removing the part closest to the passenger compartment, or a total depth of 26mm(1 inch) will be reached.

materials of the passenger compartment; seat cushions, backrests, seat belts, roof coverings, convertible tops, floor coverings, armrests, headrests, sunshades, blinds and curtains. For VW TL 1010 test standards, the sample size should be 355mm *100mm*thickness (<13mm), 10 pieces (all directions).

Our EUROLAB test laboratory complies with ISO/IEC 17020 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories to help ensure accuracy and precision in performing tests, obtaining data and reporting results. EUROLAB comes with flammability tests, detailed test reports, images of labels before and after testing, and all test data so they can be examined and analysed.
