PSA B21 7110 Technical Specification Standard for Environmental Characteristics of Electrical and Electronic Equipment

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance service within the scope of PSA B21 7110 standard. This standard defines the requirements that must be observed to ensure the electrical behavior and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of vehicles (specific vehicles and commercial vehicles) and related electrical, electronic and pyrotechnic equipment.

PSA B21 7110 Technical Specification Standard for Environmental Characteristics of Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The PSA group of automotive manufacturers (Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, etc.) has published B21 7110 requirements for component EMC testing. These included, as a novelty, a requirement for EM field immunity testing in a reverberation chamber. An echo chamber is an electromagnetically shielded room with minimal electromagnetic energy absorption. Due to the low absorption, very high field strength can be achieved with moderate input power.

Here are some important procedures related to the EMC pre-compliance testing process:

Automotive, systems and vehicle integration EMC issues are quickly discovered.
By understanding the physics the root cause is found and electromagnetic compatibility issues are fixed in the same EMC testing phase.
Sequential testing is done to ensure adequate design margin and approve improvements.

At EUROLAB we have a full range of EMC troubleshooting tools to locate the source of the fault as EMC problems are identified. In addition to our EMC tools, we have numerous component kits in-house for prototyping and retesting solutions.
