ECE regulations define cross-border technical regulations for establishing approval or uniform approval procedures for motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts. Automated commercial vehicles are already fully eligible for approval only through appropriate individual measures in the country in which they will be used. What is missing is a set of rules at the international ECE level.
Regulation 81 (UN/ECE) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe — Covers the uniform provisions regarding the approval of two-wheeled electric vehicles with or without a basket for the mounting of rear-view mirrors and the tests applied accordingly.
Rear view mirror means any device that allows the driver to see clearly behind the vehicle. This regulation covers rear-view mirrors intended for installation in vehicles of category L (1) that partially or completely enclose the driver, and rear-view mirrors to be installed in vehicles of category L that partially or completely surround the driver.
In order for the rear view mirrors to be approved, all rear view mirrors must be adjustable and must provide the viewing angles mentioned in the regulation. Rearview mirrors must be subjected to various tests to determine their behavior under impact and bending of the holder fixed to the body or support.
