SAE J1610 Tests

EUROLAB Laboratory provides accredited testing services within the scope of the test method to evaluate the sealing capacity of hose connections with the SAE J1610 standard. This standard establishes uniform procedures for evaluating the sealing capability of a hose joint (or any component) during a pressure, vibration or temperature (PVT) test facility.

Test Details

This standard specifies procedures for evaluating the sealing capability of hose connections under two categories:

  • Methods involving vibration and coolant flow
  • Methods without vibration and coolant flow

Types of products/materials generally tested in our laboratories

Hoses, tubing, hose couplings and fittings for cooling systems in automotive applications

Common Areas of Use

Verifies if there are any visible coolant leaks from the assembly throughout the test. Throughout the product development lifecycle, there are significant opportunities to evaluate how a product will perform in its final application. Material testing allows you to understand how polymers behave in certain applications and measure the impact of different environmental factors under isolated conditions. Data can be carried to new applications and assist in the initial selection of candidate materials. Product testing more effectively replicates the terms of service and relates only to the specific product being tested. Common industry standard test methods include FMVSS 106, SAE J1610, SAE J2260, SAE J2044/J2045, GMW 16153 and GMW 14785 for automotive and SAE J343, SAE J517 for industrial.
