ISO 15118 Road Vehicles - Vehicle-to-Grid Communication Interface Test

This standard specifies terms and definitions, general requirements and use cases for conductive and wireless HLC between EVCC and SECC, as a basis for other parts of the ISO 15118 series.

This standard applies to HLC in conductive and wireless power transmission technologies in the context of manual or automatic connection devices.

This standard also applies to the transfer of energy from the EV supply equipment to charge the EV battery or from the EV battery to the EV supply equipment to power the home, loads or grid.

This standard provides an overview and common understanding of issues affecting identification, attribution, charging or discharge control and optimization, payment, load balancing, cybersecurity and privacy. It offers an interoperable EV-to-EV supply equipment interface to all e-mobility actors beyond SECC.

The ISO 15118 series does not specify vehicle internal communication between the battery and other internal equipment (besides some special message elements regarding energy transfer).

This standard is for routing the ISO 15118‑2 and ISO 15118‑20 message set. The absence of any special use cases in this standard does not mean that it cannot be implemented with the necessary messages.
