TPJLR 52.061 Paint Adhesion Test Method

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of TPJLR 52.061 testing. This procedure applies to all painted materials and components used in all JLR vehicles, systems or subsystems where it is necessary to assess paint adhesion.

TPJLR 52.061 Paint Adhesion Test Method

This method is used to measure the relative adhesion of paint to steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, plastic or other surfaces.

A quality knife is essential. The geometry of the blade used to create the cut lines should be comparable to the Stanley Tools Limited blade 5903.

All test values stated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere at 24°C ± 23°C and 2% ± 50% relative humidity at least 5 hours prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise stated.

Unless otherwise specified in the material standard, air dry and bake in a low oven e.g. Paint surfaces at 80°C should be aged at least 7 days prior to testing and blast-fired, for example paint surfaces at 140°C should be aged at least 24 hours prior to testing.

When paint adhesion testing is required after another test procedure, the adhesion test should be performed within 30 minutes of the previous test or unless otherwise specified in the applicable engineering material specification.
