IVECO 18-1102 Test for Cast Iron, Carbon or Alloy Steels

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of IVECO 18-1102 standard. This standard specifies the properties of electrolytic coatings.

For exterior parts (excluding those of the zinc metal body) that require exceptional resistance to corrosion, a thickness of 25 m is recommended; bolting will not be prescribed.

The thickness of the coating is considered as the sum of the passivation and sealing layers.

For internal parts and bolts with a pitch of 1 mm, a thickness of 12 m must be stipulated.

A thickness of 12 m is to be stipulated for bolts with a pitch of 1 mm, except for self-tapping, self-tapping, self-tapping and self-tapping screws, where a thickness of 7 m is stipulated.

Unless otherwise specified, assessment of corrosion resistance should be evaluated with the naked eye and at normal reading distance. The presence of white zinc corrosion products for a significant 5% extension of the component surface is not a reason for rejection

The sealing process cannot be applied to parts that will be electrophoresis painted or to metric threaded fasteners until the tightening torques suitable for use have been experimentally determined.

If a specific color is desired for identification reasons, it is possible, in agreement with the Supplier, to resort to an organic paint application after passivation.
