DBL 5307 Flame Retardant Properties - Test for Interior Trim Parts

The DBL 5307 standard mainly consists of the following parts:

  • The DBL 5307.10 standard covers all interior materials of passenger cars, multi-purpose passenger cars, trucks and buses. For buses with more than 22 seats, seat accessories, side and rear panel linings, materials with thermal or acoustic function, floor coverings, luggage racks, heating and ventilation hoses, floor panels, lighting systems are included;
  • The DBL 5307.11 standard covers as product version 10, however, the danger of incompatibility due to aging as a result of thermal stress;
  • The DBL 5307.12 standard, as product version 10, covers, however, the danger of incompatibility due to aging as a result of thermal stress due to moisture;
  • The DBL 5307.13 standard covers as product version 10, however, the danger of incompatibility due to aging as a result of slight thermal stress;
  • The DBL 5307.20 standard covers interior trim materials on the vehicle roof in buses with more than 22 seats;
  • The DBL 5307.21 standard covers curtains or roller blinds on buses with more than 22 seats;

  • The DBL 5307.45 standard covers coated tarpaulins and nets for special vehicles.

This standard describes the requirements and test methods for the flame retardant properties of materials and fabrics used in the driver's cabin, passenger compartment and all adjacent areas of motor vehicles and buses. The purpose of this standard is to evaluate a fire load to prevent a fire from developing or to allow a fire to spread very slowly.

This standard covers all materials used in the passenger compartment in the form of fiber materials, coatings, adhesives, foams, compressed materials, impregnations, panels, leather, deep drawn and injection molded components, such as thermoplastics, thermoset plastics, elastomers and combinations thereof.
