VW 50180 Emissions Test of Interior Components

The VW 50180 standard covers the procedure for testing formaldehyde content, odor and fogging behavior as well as analyzing air quality by identifying VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). VOCs can often be emitted at room temperature and tend to reduce air quality in vehicle interiors as they can pose potential health risks to humans and the environment when present at high levels. The 50180 method provides evaluation criteria for the use of low-emission materials in passenger compartments and luggage, which helps determine whether these manufactured components meet OEM regulations.

VW 50180 Emissions Test of Interior Components

The Volkswagen standard VW 50180 contains requirements for the emission behavior of components inside the vehicle. The components of the VW 50180 standard are the PV 3341 (emission of organic compounds), PV 3015 (identification of condensable components, fogging test), PV 3900 (odor test) and PV 3925 (formaldehyde emission) test specifications.

All VW method 50180 procedures are performed by our skilled automotive testing personnel who use specialized equipment to ensure accurate and precise results. EUROLAB can perform VW 50180 testing on a variety of vehicle interior materials such as plastics, textiles, artificial leather, composites and sub-assemblies.

Our EUROLAB test laboratory complies with ISO/IEC 17020 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories to help ensure accuracy and precision in performing tests, obtaining data and reporting results. EUROLAB comes with emissions tests, detailed test reports, images of labels before and after testing, and all test data so it can be reviewed and analysed.
