VW PV 1200 Vehicle Parts Environmental Cycle Endurance Tests

This test specification defines an environmental loop test (high temperature / low temperature loop) for test units, eg. vehicle parts engine compartment. The behavior of units and parts during environmental cycle stress through cycle temperature and humidity will be evaluated here.

The purpose of the test specifications is not to define general component requirements for continuous operation (eg temperature -40 °C), but to reveal component weaknesses in a short-term test with the effect of accelerated time.

Before placing the VM PV 1200 test specimen, humidity, temperature must be set with a tolerance of ± 2 °C and relative air humidity with a tolerance of ± 5%. The climate chamber should be set to room temperature (23 °C) and 30% relative value. Waiting times must be maintained at all times. Heating and cooling stages may vary according to the performance capacity of the climatic chambers used. Deviations will be noted in the test report.
