VW PV 3927 Thermogravimetric Analysis Test Standard for Plastics and Elastomers

This test specification is used for the quantitative determination of elastomers and key components of plastics (plasticizer, polymer components, oxidizable components, carbon black, etc.) as well as for the evaluation of weathering behavior.

VW PV 3927 Thermogravimetric Analysis Test Standard for Plastics and Elastomers

The purpose of the test is to verify the identity of the materials used for the elastomer or plastic part. According to a particular evaluation method, percent organic components, oxidizable components, an inorganic residue are determined.

This test specification is used for the quantitative determination of elastomers and key components of plastics (plasticizer, polymer components, oxidizable components, carbon black, etc.) as well as for the evaluation of weathering behavior.

In principle, samples should be submitted with an indication of the manufacturer's change in quality. The number of parts required for laboratory evaluation should be agreed with the responsible materials laboratory. Deviations from this standard should be noted in the drawings and test reports. A separate Technical Supply Specification is required for parts whose grades cannot be classified according to this standard.

Our EUROLAB test laboratory complies with ISO/IEC 17020 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories to help ensure accuracy and precision in performing tests, obtaining data and reporting results. EUROLAB comes with plastic and elastomer testing, detailed test reports, images of labels before and after testing, and all test data so they can be reviewed and analysed.
