All interior materials have been developed for use in vehicles with sun glazing; therefore performance may decrease when used on vehicles without sun glazing.
This specification defines aesthetic fabrics used for interior upholstery applications where a lighter fabric (typically <300 g/m 2 ) is suitable (typically non-abrasive areas).
Such applications include seat covers, backrests, seat gussets, anti-squeak parts and vertical door inserts. The use and application of these lighter fabrics must be approved by GM Materials Engineering and must meet the Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS) for the vehicle.
This specification does not apply to seat covers used in the entry/exit path (typically the outer side covers on seat cushions and backrests). Fabrics used in these areas must meet GMW14231.
