EN 62368-1 Audio, Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment Part 1: Security Requirements

IEC 62368-1 applies to:
Safety of electrical and electronic equipment and business and office machinery in the field of audio, video, information and communication technology with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V. This document does not contain performance requirements or functional characteristics of equipment.

This is a product safety standard that classifies energy sources, specifies protective measures against these energy sources, and provides guidance on their application and requirements.

The prescribed safety measures are aimed at reducing the possibility of pain and injury, and in the event of fire, property damage. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2014. This edition is a technical revision.

This edition includes the following important technical changes from the previous edition:

• Adding outdoor equipment requirements;
• New requirements for optical radiation;
• Addition of requirements for insulating fluids;
• Adding requirements for work cells;
• Adding requirements for wireless power transmitters;
• Adding requirements for fully insulated winding wire (FIW);
• Alternative method for determining top, bottom and side openings for fire enclosures;
• Alternative requirements for sound pressure.

This group safety publication is primarily intended to be used as a product safety standard for products specified in scope.
