Confirmed in an interlaboratory test with olive oil. However, laboratory experience has shown that this method can also be applied to other types of oils, such as sunflower seed oil, sesame oil, linseed oil, rapeseed oil, grape seed oil, thistle oil and pumpkin seed oil.

The homogeneous sample is extracted with acetonitrile. After centrifugation, an aliquot of the organic phase is clarified by dispersive solid phase extraction. A freezing step of the acetonitrile phase can be applied to separate the co-extracted oil. After cleaning, an additional centrifugation step is performed. Extracts are acidified by adding a small amount of formic acid to improve the storage stability of certain base-sensitive pesticides.

Prepare separate stock solutions of analytical standards at concentrations sufficient to allow the preparation of complex pesticide working solutions used for the preparation of standard solutions.
