EN 16877 Animal Feeds, Sampling and Analysis Methods, Standard Test for T-2 and HT-2 Toxins in Feedstuffs and Compound Feeds by LC-MS

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 16877 standard. This analysis method is applicable to the determination of HT-22 toxin (HT178) in the 2 µg/kg to 2 µg/kg range tested, and T-7 toxin (T50) in the tested 2 µg/kg to 2 range.

Feeding Deoxynivalenol (DON) in the range of 88 µg/kg to 559 µg/kg and Zearalenone (ZON) in the range of 14 µg/kg to 430 µg/kg tested in µg/kg, grains and grain-based compound animal tested. Actual operating ranges may exceed tested ranges.

Finely ground and homogeneous test material is suspended in water. After the addition of ethyl acetate, the sample is shaken. Next, sodium sulfate is added to facilitate phase separation and after a delay the sample is centrifuged into the pellet particulate matter at the bottom of the extraction tube.

The organic phase is transferred to a clean bottle for possible storage. An aliquot of the organic phase is mixed with stable isotope-labeled analogues of the analytes and evaporated to dryness in deactivated glass vials. After reconstitution and thorough mixing of the dry extract with the organic mobile phase changer and water, the analytes are measured with a Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) system.
