ISO 3744 Test

ISO 3744:2010, Acoustics - Determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources using sound pressure - Engineering methods for a substantially free space on a reflective plane, one or more of the sound pressure levels measured on a surface surrounding the noise source (machine or equipment). It specifies methods for determining the sound power level or sound energy level of a noise source in an environment approaching near acoustic free space.

ISO 3744 Test

From household appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators to engineering equipment and subassemblies, this test is used to measure the natural sound power output level of a device in a free space environment. Measurements according to this standard are carried out in specialist test rooms or free space open air test environments, which prevent the measurement of unwanted acoustic reflections along with the noise output of the device under test.
