The test can be used to evaluate the performance of a package in terms of the protection or durability it offers to its contents when subjected to tipping. It can be performed as a single test to investigate the effects of a rollover or as part of a series of tests designed to measure the ability of the package to withstand a delivery System with a tipping hazard.
Complementing the tests described in ISO 2244, ISO 2248 and ISO 2876, the test can be used to investigate the Performance of packages that are long relative to the bottom dimensions. It also applies to packages that are small in height compared to the base dimensions but can be stored or transported standing on a side face to save storage space. The test is recommended for packages with a ratio of longest sides to shortest sides of 3:1 or more.
