ISTA 1G Package Test

The ISTA 1G transit test procedure is designed for products weighing less than 150 pounds. The 150-pound limit takes into account the weight of the product when preparing for shipping. Only individually packaged products should be considered.

ISTA 1G Package Test

Products on skids or pallets weighing more than 100 kilos can be tested according to ISTA Test Procedure 1E or ISTA Test Procedure 1H.

The test sequence includes atmospheric preconditioning, vibration and shock. Conditioning is basically a 12-hour environment absorption. The vibration test is random vibration.

It can be shock test, drop test, tilt impact test or horizontal impact test. Customer determines this method. Only one test sample is required for this test method.

The package is placed on four different faces during the vibration test. Test times for each face are called up in the ISTA 1G test procedure. The drop test includes 10 separate series. It has a corner drop and three edge drops. The pack is also left to each of the six sides of the pack.
