ASTM A90 Standard Test Method for Coating Weight on Zinc or Zinc-Alloy Coated Iron and Steel Articles

Final results determined by this test method should be expressed in inch-pound units or SI units, depending on the units used in the material specification to which the results are to be compared. Certain parts of the procedure involving the determination of the sample weight [mass] have traditionally been performed in SI units and the corresponding inch-pound units are not included.

For sheet products, the final results are expressed either as the total coating weight [mass] on both sides or the individual coating weight [mass] on both sides, depending on the specified requirements.
