It can be applied to tablets, extrudate, spheres, and irregularly shaped particles larger than about an inch and less than about 3/4 inch (19 mm).
The materials used in the development of the method exhibited less than 7% wear loss; however, the method should be applicable to materials that cause much greater wear.
