EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM C430 standard. Cement fineness is a measure of cement particle size and is expressed as the specific surface area of the cement. Cement fineness test is done by sieving the cement sample with a standard IS sieve.
Smaller particles of cement respond much faster than larger particles. While the 1µm diameter cement particle completely reacts in 1 day, the 10µm diameter cement particle takes about 1 month.
If the fine cement particle is more in the cement, it will set too quickly and it will not be possible to place the concrete properly in place.
