ASTM D1593 Non-Rigid Vinyl Chloride Test for Plastic Film and Coating

This standard covers non-rigid, unsupported vinyl chloride plastic film and sheets in which the resin part of the composition contains at least 90% vinyl chloride.

The remaining 10% may contain one or more monomers copolymerized with vinyl chloride or may consist of poly(vinyl chloride) or other resins mechanically blended with copolymers thereof.

The vinyl chloride plastic film and coating covered herein will be thicker than 0,075 to 0,25 mm (3 to 10 mils) for the film and 0,25 mm for the coating. The film and coating will contain the necessary stabilizers and plasticizers to meet the requirements of this specification.

This specification covers clear, translucent or opaque films and sheets that are plain, printed, embossed or otherwise surface-treated.
