In the application of this standard, procedures for determining soil-cement losses, water content changes and volume changes (swelling and shrinkage) caused by repeated wetting and drying of hardened soil-cement samples are applied. Samples are compressed in a die prior to cement hydration to maximum density at optimum water content using the compression procedure described in Test Methods D 558.
