EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ASTM D1259 standard. These test methods cover the determination of the non-volatile content of resin solutions in volatile organic solvents.
Two test methods are included as follows:
Test Method A: For solutions of heat-insensitive resins. These solutions contain resins that remain stable and release solvent under test conditions. Examples are ester gums and alkyds.
Test Method B: For two types of solutions:
Solutions of heat sensitive resins. These solutions contain resins that undergo condensation or other reactions under the influence of heat. Examples include formaldehyde reaction products of urea, melamine and phenols.
Solutions that release solvent slowly. Examples include epoxy resin solutions.
Test Methods A and B differ primarily in drying times and types of ovens used.
Values given in SI units should be accepted as standard. Values in parentheses are for informational purposes only.
